Cross Country Trip Day 9

August 9th

I started my day with a trip to Hobby Lobby. I have never been to one before, but I have quite a few etsy friends who rave about it. And I must agree, it is a fantastic store. It is gigantic, and has more items than I could even comprehend. Unfortunately, my car is already stuffed, so I couldn't buy any large furniture pieces, much to my disappointment.

After my shopping trip, where I severely restricted myself to only spending $30, I headed on to Denver Colorado. It wound up only being about 8 1/2 hours from Kansas City, so I decided to go for it. All I have to say is that Kansas is a really wide, flat state. All I saw for hours on end was corn, sunflowers, and the occasional gas station.

I don't remember when I have ever been so happy to see rolling hills, and the mountains in the distance! I made it to Denver about 9pm local time. Got checked into my hotel, and ordered room service. (I could get used to this) I was just too tired, and getting a migraine, so I didn't want to drive around in a strange city and try to find something to eat.

Enjoy some pictures of today's journey.

Windmills in Kansas

My first view of mountains, in what feels like months.

Pretty clouds with the sun behind them.

Beautiful sunset in Colorado.
